Being at home these past few months has made me feel less independent and capable. I have been on my laptop a lot, either on a Zoom call or just doing homework since everything is done virtually, even reading a book.

I don’t get a lot of exercise. I tried making a routine of doing a 15-minute work out, but then I would get lazy one morning and never get back into it. My dad on the other hand has found his solution to getting the exercise he needs. A mini trampoline.

“10 minutes on the trampoline is the same as walking for an hour,” he said.

Its usually me or my mom who does most of the cooking and cleaning. It has been interesting to see how things have changed in our family dynamic since the pandemic started. My mom hasn't worked in over decade, but over this past year she went back to school and found some part-time, paid work. She always made dinner and lunches and now there is less of that. My two brothers and I are all grown up, so I think she feels ready to be more than a mom again.

What has been nice about being at home a lot is noticing how light shines into my house. Every window is equipped with blinds, so there is always a pattern on everything.
